Cook your own food:

A beautiful chicken salad Courtesy:http://blog.questnutrition.com/ Reading this the first thing that comes to mind is “Eh! Yet another food blogger and yet another self-proclaimed chef.”  Ok, I got it. First, I was thinking to get into this domain too, as I am experimenting a lot with food and I am in love with it nowadays and second, well…forget it, don’t call me a chef. I will talk both literally and figuratively about this heading I have chosen, which sounds little ambiguous and for few it might sound time waste too, I won’t blame you for this thinking, we human beings have been nurtured like this, if something trivial comes up, we know it will eventually waste our precious time, in which we anyway are building flying cars, a next generation fuel or even planning a trip to Mars and thinking about settling there, as anyway the air in China and India are now costing few dollars and is exported from the Andes mountain and Canada. Literally: Cooking your own food is...

The Brand- ISKCON: Hare Krishna Hare Rama!!

DISCLAIMER It’s hard to satisfy everyone. So if someone can get offended, please don’t continue and close the browser window, and the one who want to read on this go on. Happy reading :-) ************** I am crazy about brands, how they are built, managed and how the propaganda is set for generations to come. While every brand has different USP on which it prospers, it uses two of the most important parameter to count on its success- Consumer  behavior  and Market research. A product or service can be hyper  localized  or spread across different time zones, but require consumers like us to start on a positive note, break-even, or even go with IPO. There is one brand which has always mesmerised me. It is not the P&G or Hindustan Unilever or Micromax ( having o ne of the best Marketing team in India). I am talking about ISKCON (International Society of Krishna Consciousness), an organised brand, having religion as its platform and deep rooted Kr...

Chapter 09<-Link A story of a friend..by a friend... Dear students, You will be glad to know that we are throwing a fresher’s party, those who are interested can deposit Rs.250 to  your CR. The party will be held in auditorium on 16 th October, till any further changes. “Rs.250? Are THEY throwing a party or we?” chuckled Parth. “Ya Parth you are correct, let’s talk to Mridul about this, he is our CR, and he will definitely do something”  Malvika said with a serious tone.  Malvika and Parth had come closer to each other in recent past, due to a rift between Prateek and her. The news was still away from Mridul as he was busy in some other prior work. “Yipeeee…a fresher’s part…I will become rich this month” said Mridul in a jest after getting the news from Prateek. “Shut up Mridul, don’t you feel that 250 rupees is too much for a party at college audi…everybody is complaining about that to other CRs” Kanishka said pointing towards the...

The day was going really nice. Sleep was the utmost priority and my phone was vibrating and telling me “Brother, charge me as I am feeling really hungry”. I opened my eyes just enough to see what time it is. The widget showed 12 noon. Outside my room I heard my mom complaining “He has become too lazy, just wasting our money in gym...see the time. Now he will wake up and ask for breakfast.” Just to spice up my morning, I yelled “Ma, breakfast” and then the real lecture started. I listened to it while going through the messages of early risers. My sister has updated her DP with her Engagement’s picture. I went down the memory lane where I had so much fun with my brothers and sisters; dancing on music with no knowledge of beats, drinking like no tomorrow and eating every fucking dish from North Indian’s favourite “Aloo Puri” to Italian Au Gratin. We were together, from laughing our guts out on every dumb act of ours to enjoying every crazy custom we have during pre-marriage...

Lost virginity: Not again!!

The air was hard to find as my oversized body required everything in huge quantity. It seemed like the metro which just arrived squished the air which was flowing through the station cross section. I was still cupping my knees with my palms and was taking deep breaths when someone tapped me from behind. A quick nasty cold vibe went through my body as if the air which I was searching for got the address of the person which required it the most and entered without taking prior permission from my mouth. Suddenly the breathing stopped and I turned my face to see who the hell on earth wanted to provide me with a re-breather. “Now, I look fine?” the familiar voice tickled my ear drums. “Yups...I mean what...I mean couldn’t get you...sorry!” I was confused what to say and her meek smile was making it more difficult to even say something. The mess was cleaned up and the lips were back to their glossy state, the cheeks got their colour back and the eyes looked even more beautiful tha...

Food oh Food

The exams were over and as promised by my dad we would be soon leaving for a trip to Manali. Knowing my food crazy nature and also seeing me not having my food properly during exams my mom got up early to prepare some healthy oil soaked food. The food was ready, the luggage was ready, the car was ready and so were we to hit the road. It was 8 in the morning when we left and by mistake it was the first time in history we left on time which we decided to leave at (Punctual and my family...forget it J ) . The sun was shining over the roof of the car and its heat could be easily felt inside the car running on maximum AC fan speed. Four hours of continuous travelling and my sister’s road sickness had left nothing inside us and we decided to stop at a restaurant- “Sher-e-Punjab”. A railway track running behind the restaurant touching infinity and the sun playing hide and seek behind the woods. It was a beautiful and soothing to eyes if not to body. After having food, my father got bu...
