The Dream Vs Goal Encounter:

Image
Part-1 Whenever I retire for the day, there is a sense of panicky in me. Something keeps me awake. Something tells me that Mrigank today you were non productive. Something tells me that Mrigank you are the only person that can prove 80/20 principle wrong, as your efforts are zero and you want to chase heaven.  Something tells me to wake up and work a little bit to know that there is a certain amount of beauty associated with hard work. And then, dream hushes that ‘something in me’. In dream I see myself as the most charismatic person, a person with every bit of knowledge, a person who have moulded time in such way that I can squeeze out 25 hours from one day, productivity breaking all the records and I am diving in the pool which Uncle Scrooge used to dive in. Is there any connection of my dream and ‘me at present’? Or it’s purely a fit of pleasure which will seize to exist as soon as I gulp down a potion of reality. ********** Part-2 Whenever I retire for ...

Socially...I am dead!

The morning was cold and the quilt was warm enough to keep me wrapped inside like a new born baby. Let the debate begin The phone was the only perpetrator which could have harassed my dreams. On a normal day I would not have picked any call but somewhere I thought it might be for an interview call which I was expecting lately. My eyes were still closed knowing the fact that sun won’t miss a single chance to assault my pupils. I picked up the call. To my dismay, it was a friend of mine asking to attend the college so that I could be one of the panel to  judge an intra-college debate competition to select a team for University Fest. I was still lazy but I have always loved such competitions; debate being my favourite. I readily agreed for the proceedings. ******** “The topic is Social media’s effect is dying down in Youth” announced the organizer proudly, who himself was a participant and was eager to start. ‘May be he believed in first mover’s advantage’ I ...

Walking Away-01

A Story of a Friend By a Friend.... “Bhai ! You scored 80 percent” Prateek came roaring and waving a piece of paper held high. Usually high on spirit Mridul just, finished his last bite of chapatti and put his lunch box in his bag. Prateek pulled his hand out from the bag and shoved that piece of paper in Mridul’s hand that he was carrying; thinking Mridul would jump and hug him. Getting marks in an Engineering College was just like the amount of gold you get after a huge investment. Mridul stood up but without showing any ecstasy and left the class room. Prateek stood watching him till he vanished in the swarm. The sudden change in Mridul was not that sudden as others thought, but it was differently surprising for his friends. He had changed a lot. Usually chirpy and heartthrob of friends has become silent altogether. “What have happened to him?” Parth exclaimed seeing the strange behavior of his once the dearest friend. “I don’t know, sometime I get really p...

The ghost from the girlfriend's past

The training was going ‘miserably’ fun, as it was my first time hands on experience on a colour Television. After getting back from the factory, I was sweating excessively in gym. I was tired to hell and the walk to my home back was looking like never ending. Finally I reached my home and the body ache forced me to skip my dinner (first in my lifetime!) and go to my bed with full throttle AC. ******** “Mrigank actually I can’t give you my number...umm...I mean my parents don’t like me talking to boys. I am sorry.” said a beautiful voice, the person I had big crush on. “Yeah! It’s OK no problem. So how can we be in contact after school?” I asked after a little embarrassment. “We can be in contact through mails. It’s fun...I mean the anxiety of expecting a reply and then replying with a smile on. By the way, why didn’t you have lunch? Do you really take our fight that seriously?” she was playing my mind but that was a sweet feeling. “Ya, you are a friend of mine ra...

The substitute of failure

Today was one of the hottest day of summer in Delhi and even the Air-conditioner seemed sweating wildly as it’s fat was melting (after all it weighs 2 ton :P ). My mom was shouting on me to take bath but ‘Who the hell we go outside the chilling room’ I thought. The pleasure of chilled room was short lived when this ultimatum came like a heat wave-“Go and have bath otherwise no lunch for today.” I had to go for the bath with my towel on my neck and a bucket full of cold water (Thanks to some ice cubes). But this happiness stayed for a while as I slipped and broke my hip girdle. The water was draining down and couldn’t do anything but to see it draining down.  This heat was making me lethargic and I was failing to complete my daily tasks and something has to be done about it. I had no choice except to take a shower with hot water due to natural geyser of my roof. The water trickled down my body and I got lost in my thoughts. Sometimes human tend to move on a path althoug...
