The Child in You- A Genius:

I started my journey to Bangalore from Chennai, in a double Decker train. It’s a nice concept to carry more people on a track which is one of the busiest during weekends. There was a certain excitement in me, just like a kid when he travels for the first time in a train or a plane. I remember my first flight to Nepal, which didn’t allow me to sleep on the eve of my flight. I don’t remember my first train journey, but my mom says, I made my first girl friend during my first train experience, which is actually hilarious, knowing I would have been just 3 or 4 years old. We all remember our childhood days, the innocence that dripped from our face, even when we did something evil. Eyes starry and drooling face was the perfect enactment to emanate trust. We knew how we have to market our innocence, how to put forward our desires and each wish was fulfilled. During my stay in Delhi, I spent some time with my niece, an angel with a tinge of naughtiness and abundance of curiosity to kn...

9 Ways to be successful

Image
Last night, I made myself comfortable on my bed, switched on my laptop and started watching “The wolf of Wall street” for the 17 th time. The more I watch this movie, the more the urgency comes to do something with my life. There is something Jordan Belfort said, which hangs on my desk at office: “I want you to back yourself into a corner. Give yourself no choice but to succeed. Let the consequences of failure become so dire and so unthinkable that you’ll have no choice but to do whatever it takes to succeed.” There are 9 things which you can do then taste success in your life: 1. Sleep : Yes sleep, sleep is the most important activity of someone’s daily routine. Sleep compresses the data your brain is carrying for whole day and makes way for new things for downloading next day. A good sound six hour sleep is must. So take your first step and dream about being something. 2. Don’t squeeze 25 th : We only have 24 hours to manage and do our activities. There are fe...

The Brand- ISKCON: Hare Krishna Hare Rama!!

Image
DISCLAIMER It’s hard to satisfy everyone. So if someone can get offended, please don’t continue and close the browser window, and the one who want to read on this go on. Happy reading :-) ************** I am crazy about brands, how they are built, managed and how the propaganda is set for generations to come. While every brand has different USP on which it prospers, it uses two of the most important parameter to count on its success- Consumer  behavior  and Market research. A product or service can be hyper  localized  or spread across different time zones, but require consumers like us to start on a positive note, break-even, or even go with IPO. There is one brand which has always mesmerised me. It is not the P&G or Hindustan Unilever or Micromax ( having o ne of the best Marketing team in India). I am talking about ISKCON (International Society of Krishna Consciousness), an organised brand, having religion as its platform and deep rooted Kr...

India's own campaign If you are hungry then this is not a theme restaurant you are searching for :P Its been long, since I have published something and I won’t tell you story behind it, atleast this time. Today I read an article in The Hindu (not showing how intellectually advanced I am :P), about how different can Swachh Bharat Abhiyan be from what we perceive. A woman is known by her clothes, a man by his shoes and a community by its toilet, if I am allowed to say this. A country which is rising day in and day out, thanks to a very dynamic and really hyper active Prime Minister; who has become a trending topic on Twitter and Google (Most stupid PM controversy included), thanks to his visionary schemes- “Digital India”, “Skill India”, “Make in India” and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (I could have used “Clean India”, but this could have killed the essence of this scheme). Though others have brought in laurels for him and the country, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is something which looks...

The vicious godliness

I still remember the words of Lord Krishna in B.R Chopra’s Mahabharata “Whenever there will be rise of evil force; I will take birth to end the cruelty and give birth to righteousness.” I kept playing that in loop and tried enacting that, knowing the fact that I can’t be a good actor. India suffered from diseases; Ramdev came into the scene as the protector of Indian originated, Yoga. I thought he is the doctor version of the “reincarnated Lord Krishna”. When women got raped in different parts of India; Asaram Bapu came with his “Brother Sister speech”. I thought he is drunken version of the “reincarnated Lord Krishna”. When people were going through rough phase of their lives; Nirmal baba came with his “Kripa” theory. I thought he is the service provider version of the “reincarnated Lord Krishna”. In last few years, there has been a rise of these “reincarnated Lord Krishna”. Some has been modest and true to their work and proved to be worthy for this country of diversity, wh...

Shor in the city

AC was running on full blow, and I was literally shivering while having a cup of coffee in left hand, right hand busy scrolling down the inbox and eyes scanning the subject line of each e-mail. It’s been six days I have joined in this company and it feels like ages have gone by. I came here three months back with three bags containing my clothes, accessories and my documents and a body full of dreams and enthusiasm. It felt nice earlier. The independent lifestyle I was living, making new friends, meeting new people and doing things which I liked and when I liked. The sun was harsh, but the sea had a soothing effect. The silence of sea was deafening, the ship used to tease me with the ease it travelled through rhythmic wave. Now when I sit in front of my laptop screen, I realise everything has turned monotonous. Waking at six; begging god for few more minutes of sleep, getting ready for office, having a glass of milk and leaving with a hope that I won't miss the local trai...

The great Indian Secularism

Disclaimer: This post is a work of total fiction with resemblance to any dead or alive is deliberate but still I don’t take any responsibility of hurt feelings. During the writing and proof reading no animal, organism, Tushhar Kapoor, Sajid Khan or other jokers were harmed, though I terribly wanted that. If jailed; you can meet me during the visitor’s hours and please come with food; pasta favoured over Chapattis. ************* Secularism-The life blood of Indian politics. If someone’s speech ends without the use of this word or Arnab Goswami’ show ends without this word being brought up by Meenakshi Lekhi and her gang; it’s an act of blasphemy and you can be forced to pursue your post graduation in Management from IIPM; number ONE in global exposure. Secularism’s seed was buried by the great King Akbar. He married queens of nearly three major religions to show how secular he was and tried every possible position of Kamasutra during the night to get his “religious” descen...

The great Indian sex education:

Disclaimer: This article is both work of some crazy idea and Indian moral values. During the writing session, no animal, single cell organism, orgasm or Tushhar Kapoor (unfortunately) was killed. It has every fucking resemblance to what Indian politics has become and Arnab Goswani's "Nation wants to know, Am I an asshole?" The content is for adults +18. Parent's discretion required. Ohhh!...who gives a shit to this...Just read it and forget it... ********** India is known for three great things. There is one Taj Mahal; the epitome of love, some call it, seeing which all ladies go GaGa; who was actually built by a mother f***er (Yes, I mean he slept with his sixth wife to get his what 14th kid or something and when she died, he then married her sister and became sister F...ahem that's a different story), with due respect to its magnificent architecture. Then it’s Bandra Worli Sea link, who is smaller than some nigga's dick (or I think they think...

I wish you were here:

I stretch my arms to touch the pillow, which lies near me, lifeless just like the night when I gaze the ceiling, the fan slowly rotating on its axis and creating a magnificent effect of dim light, which is peeping through the window on the left of my bed. Tears running down my eyes, my cheeks are wet and so is my pillow. Dreams have dried up; just the pain still trying to stitch the wounds residing in my heart, solitude has engulfed me and the night being its perfect partner. I remember, your lips touching mine and you whispering in my ear to sleep, knowing that we won’t sleep. While I caress your bare back, I hear you moan slightly and could sense heavy breathing on my neck as your hands tried to explore my hair. We were wrapped in a white sheet, just to hide ourselves from ourselves, wishing the night would never end. You would slowly drift to my right, still kissing me over my neck, and telling me things will turn out better. I would gaze in your lovely eyes, searching for...

“I, baby number 22/39 of St. Stephen Hospital’s ward number 49 have taken birth to do something big in my life” I could have thought while lying in the cradle, waiting for the nurse to “deliver” me to my mom. Everyone in his or her life believes in the fact that that person is on the earth to make it large and to be better than the best, I was no exception. The one who does not believe in oneself can’t achieve anything in life. There lies a motive behind every move you make, every option you think about and every product you can extract out from that very move of yours. After spending 14 years in school, taking non medical in 11 th and then getting into a good engineering college, what is that one thing which is I have done differently. The answer is nothing except accepting this very own fact. Is acceptance of anything makes a difference? Answer is Yes, at least we are now knowing that where we are and how much ground we have to cover to achieve something big. Life ...

Chapter 10<-Link A story of a friend..by a friend... “Hello” said Mridul in sleepy voice; the holidays had made him lethargic. “Hey! Mridul, guess who is on the line” it was Kanishka, as fresh as the morning. “Hey Kanu! Sorry I was still sleeping, but you look quite fresh” he was little surprised by her call. “I wake up at 7oclock every day, not like you fatty” giggled Kanu. “That’s why you are too gorgeous sweet heart. So, why did the queen call her servant?” flirting as usual. “Nothing dear…I was getting bored, so thought let’s talk to you and plan an outing” “Where ma’am? It will be an honor to be your personal guide.” ‘Butler’ could have been his new career. “Let’s go to Worlds of wonder. Just you and me…” Kanishka paused for a second deliberately. “Wow just you and I” Mridul nearly jumped out of bed. “And our friends…off course” chuckled Kanishka. “Alright ma’am, as you say. Then let me just freshen up and talk to others. Bye de...

Time: 1:20 am Place: In my bed wrapped in my quilt Mood: Little sad My plan for a movie with a friend of mine is cancelled. I am feeling bad. Is it the first time that this has happened? The answer is NO...but still feeling bad...why? And yes, it’s not about the movie. To find out the reason about the “heartbroken feeling”, I have changed my plan and instead of cribbing on it I have decided to hit the road and go to some place where I hope to find some solace and of course my answer. Time: 4:15 am Place: Sitting on the edge of my bed...trying to find where I kept my slippers :-P Mood: Thoughtful...but still sad Still thinking where to go...hmmmm...No no no...Please no more “Battery low”. Got to charge my phone and yes I have decided about my destination. Time: 6:43 am Place: Unknown...GPS working but I am not willing to tell Mood: Fresh but thoughtful...feeling sad that fuel tank is nearly empty :-P Oops...forgot to think about “why I am here?” So, Why we...

The day was going really nice. Sleep was the utmost priority and my phone was vibrating and telling me “Brother, charge me as I am feeling really hungry”. I opened my eyes just enough to see what time it is. The widget showed 12 noon. Outside my room I heard my mom complaining “He has become too lazy, just wasting our money in gym...see the time. Now he will wake up and ask for breakfast.” Just to spice up my morning, I yelled “Ma, breakfast” and then the real lecture started. I listened to it while going through the messages of early risers. My sister has updated her DP with her Engagement’s picture. I went down the memory lane where I had so much fun with my brothers and sisters; dancing on music with no knowledge of beats, drinking like no tomorrow and eating every fucking dish from North Indian’s favourite “Aloo Puri” to Italian Au Gratin. We were together, from laughing our guts out on every dumb act of ours to enjoying every crazy custom we have during pre-marriage...

Chapter 8<-Link A story of a friend..by a friend Tossing on the bed continued till the early hours of morning. The ceiling had become the most familiar thing for Mridul. Sun was yet to leave its heavenly abode. A few cars can be heard in the distance as the early risers were on their way to offices. The sleep deprived eyes, by the time alarm clock buzzed, had already learnt the constituents of the ceiling. He himself didn’t know since when he was watching the ceiling…may be the whole night! Multiple questions were hitting his mind, who was constantly jumping in its shell. What would his parents think? Will they accept this? Was that decision correct? It was not the first time he had been awake, it was almost a month since he had been playing hide and seek with a good night sleep. The alarm clock showed 6a.m.  Mridul stood up went to bathroom to get freshen up. The hot water bath was not enough to relax his tensed state of mind and sleep deprived eyes. “I ...

Chapter 7<-Link A story of a friend..by a friend.... The first minors were waiting at the corner,so for sometime friendship was put into the attic safely. “ Yaar, Meri toh lag gayi ” Prateek was in deep remorse after the first minors. “What happened Bhai ? Itna pareshan kyu hai ” Mridul asked about Prateek’s reason of tensed look. “I am gonna fail in this exam”…’was he trying to gain sympathy?’ Mridul thought. “ Arre , don’t worry everybody will clear the exams so just chill” Parth joined in. “Let’s go out for a movie today” Malvika suggested while entering the canteen, “It will be a great fun! It’s been a time that we have gone out.“ She continued. “Yipeeee, we are going to watch movie…movie...movie…but which one?” Kanishka was already excited about the plan and was banging 'the' canteen’s table. “Aiyee…don’t bang the table” Ramesh Uncle said while pouring some tea for a professor. No one can argue girls; same was the scenario in the...

Chapter 6<-Link A story of a friend...by a friend “ WELCOME 2 nd COUNSELING STUDENTS ”  Read the white board of the class. It was the time when the class dominated by male sex would be getting some girls to spice up college life. The dream was going to come true for many boys. It was the first time they met Malvika. She was a school friend of Kanishka, and really close to her. Kanishka introduced her with Mridul, Parth and Prateek. She had already told them that Malvika would be joining the college and warned them beforehand that Malvika was a little flirty in nature. Malvika’s nature matched the wavelength with Prateek and they came closer to each other more than anybody else, though they maintained the tag- “ Just Friends ”. The days passed and the friendship grew no bounds... *Chapter 8..coming soon
